Introduction
Before releasing your track, ask yourself one important question: Is it truly ready for release? Is there anything you could still improve to make it sound better?
New EDM Tracks is intended for promoting music that is ready to be presented to DJs, independent labels, and A&R professionals.
To submit your promotional video to New EDM Tracks, you need access to our submission portal. The portal link can typically be found in the description of one of our promotional videos, which are selectively distributed in communities of serious electronic music producers.
Google Account Requirements
Our submission portal uses Google Forms. To upload your video, you must be signed in to a Google account in your browser. You should be able to see your Google profile picture in the upper-right corner.
Google requires you to be signed in to upload files through Google Forms.
Copyright, Content ID, and Allowlisting
Before submitting your video, please make sure you have the necessary rights to share your music on New EDM Tracks.
We recommend publishing your video on your own YouTube channel first, using a music distributor that can register your track with YouTube Content ID and ensure that your rights are properly managed.
If your track is registered with Content ID, please check with your distributor whether @NewEDMTracks should be added to the YouTube Allowlist for your track or your music in general.
Allowlisting is not a requirement for submitting to New EDM Tracks. However, you are responsible for resolving any copyright issues that may affect your video, including arranging its removal through the appropriate rights holder or distributor.
If YouTube reports a copyright issue that triggers our automated removal procedure, we will immediately take your video offline by changing its visibility to private. We will also send you an email explaining what has happened.
Your video will remain private for seven days, giving you or your distributor time to resolve the copyright issue.
If the issue is resolved within this period, your video will be made public again and restored to its original position in our playlists.
If the issue remains unresolved after seven days, your video will be permanently deleted from New EDM Tracks.
Using a Music Distributor
If you do not currently have a music distributor, you may consider a service such as DistroKid.
DistroKid offers YouTube Content ID through its optional Social Media Pack, which costs approximately US $5 per single per year or US $15 per album per year, plus 20% of the applicable YouTube advertising revenue. These fees are additional to DistroKid’s regular distribution subscription.
Other distributors may offer different pricing and allowlisting procedures. Please check their current terms.
Duplicate Submissions and Upload Problems
Please do not submit the same video more than once to obtain a new position near the top of our playlists.
Our automated system detects and rejects duplicate submissions.
Repeated attempts to bypass this protection may result in you being blocked from making future submissions.
However, technical upload errors can occasionally occur. After a successful submission, Google Forms will display a confirmation message.
Your video should normally appear in the relevant playlists within approximately two to three hours, and you will receive an email from New EDM Tracks when your video has been added to the playlists.
If Google Forms does not display its confirmation message, your upload has not been confirmed. In that situation, you may safely try again without risking a duplicate-submission penalty.
Radio Edit or Extended Mix?
We prefer that you submit a radio edit of your track. DJs and independent label A&Rs are busy people, and we want them to discover great new music quickly.
You can include links to your extended mix in the video description, preferably somewhere DJs can purchase or download it as a WAV file.
Preparing Your Video Description
We recommend preparing your video description before opening the submission form.
This makes the submission process faster and helps ensure that DJs, labels, and other interested listeners can easily find the information they need.
Automatically Added Text
New EDM Tracks automatically inserts the following line at the beginning of your video’s description:
Official Promotion on New EDM Tracks
This will be followed by a blank line and then the description you provide through our submission portal.
Recommended Description Structure
If you want DJs to play your music or include it in their sets, make it easy for them to find the full version.
We recommend starting with a direct link to a platform where DJs can obtain your extended mix, preferably as a WAV file.
This could be Beatport, a SoundCloud download link, or another suitable music platform.
Your contact email address should also appear near the top of the description, making it easy for interested DJs, labels, and A&R professionals to contact you.
You may also include links to services such as Buy Me a Coffee, Ko-fi, Patreon, or PayPal if you accept direct support from listeners.
Finish with your artist website, social media links, and any other information you consider relevant.
Use blank lines between sections so the description is easy to read.
Character Limit
You have approximately 3,000 characters available for your own description.
New EDM Tracks automatically adds additional text after your description for search engine optimization and platform information.
Please keep your submitted text within the available limit.
Technical Video & Audio Specifications
If you have already created your promotional video and are satisfied with its sound and picture quality, you are welcome to submit it as it is.
However, if you are preparing a new video, we recommend following these guidelines to achieve the best possible sound quality.
Avoid Unnecessary Audio Compression
One common reason music can sound worse on YouTube is unnecessary audio compression during production.
For example, a producer may start with an MP3 file, import it into a video editor, export the video using another lossy audio codec, and then upload it to YouTube, which processes and encodes the audio again.
Each lossy encoding stage can introduce additional artifacts and reduce audio quality.
For the best result, start with your original, uncompressed 48 kHz WAV master.
If your master has a different sample rate, convert it to 48 kHz using a high-quality sample rate converter before importing it into your video editing software.
Avoid using MP3 or other lossy audio files as the source for your video.
Video Resolution
We recommend exporting your promotional video at 2560 × 1440 pixels (1440p), even if your original video or image has a lower resolution.
Higher-resolution uploads may provide access to different encoding options on YouTube, potentially including higher-quality audio streams.
Upscaling does not add detail to the original image, but we recommend it as part of preparing your video for YouTube. Your video program might alert you to this, but you should simply ignore it.
There is no need to export in 4K unless your original video is already in 4K.
DaVinci Resolve
Some video editing applications do not offer 1440p as a standard export preset.
For example, in DaVinci Resolve, select a custom resolution and enter:
2560 × 1440 pixels
This produces a 1440p video in the standard 16:9 aspect ratio.
Recommended Export Settings
| Setting | Recommendation |
| Container Format | MP4 or MOV |
| Video Resolution | 2560 × 1440 (1440p) |
| Video Codec | H.264, High Profile, progressive scan |
| Audio Source | Uncompressed 48 kHz WAV master |
| Audio Codec | AAC-LC |
| Audio Sample Rate | 48 kHz |
| Audio Bitrate | 320 kbps, or 384 kbps if supported |
| Loudness | Approximately −14 LUFS integrated, if appropriate for your master |
| Maximum Peak Level | Keep a reasonable safety margin below 0 dBFS |
A Note About Loudness
YouTube uses loudness normalization to help maintain a more consistent listening level between videos.
A commonly used reference is approximately −14 LUFS integrated, although this should not be treated as a mandatory mastering target.
If your music is louder than YouTube’s playback reference, YouTube may reduce its playback volume.
Do not compromise the sound of your master simply to reach a particular LUFS value.
Keep a reasonable safety margin below 0 dBFS to reduce the risk of distortion during playback and audio encoding.

Quality Standards and PLUR
Submitting a video does not guarantee that it will remain on New EDM Tracks.
All new tracks are listened to after publication. Videos that do not meet our musical and production quality standards may be removed.
We also expect all participating artists to respect our core philosophy of PLUR.
New EDM Tracks celebrates genuine musicianship, creativity, and music created by real people with real musical intention and emotion.
Content that conflicts with these principles may also be removed.
Once everything is ready, open the submission portal and follow the instructions.
Good luck with your release — and welcome to New EDM Tracks!
